Designer Sena Yang launched her eponymous line in the Fall of 2009 and since then has caught the attention of Editors and quickly become a Celeb favorite from Katy Perry gracing the cover of Cosmo to the latest True Blood national ad campaign dressing Vampire Pam. Signature looks include sexy and graphic silhouettes with the philosophy of effortless dressing with a dose of downtown attitude imbued with uptown polish.

While attending the Rhode Island School of Design, this Seattle native landed stints in both New York and London. Upon graduation she demonstrated her abilities at Alexander McQueen, Catherine Malandrino, LaROK and Sue Stemp. BE STUNNING. BE SENSATIONAL. BE SENA.

…I can’t tell you all how much I adore the pieces I was sent from Sena Yang herself…seriously…words fail me! The cut-out bustier is like Cleopatra and Lady GaGa and Cher all wrapped up in one! Isn’t it exquisite in the photos?! I can’t wait to wear it with some skinny jeans and a certain crisp cream blazer….showstopper.

And then the silk maxi…be still my heart…she has pockets people! I adore a good pocketed skirt! lol….this skirt…I felt like Cinderella running around the vineyard that day taking these shots. I’m already thinking of the next event I can easily slip this on for…I’m thinking a simple, fitted white tee with it and some amazing jewelry…my mind is spinning happily. And to think, the skirt comes in a myriad of other hues too…

A girl after my boho-chic heart…I was also gifted with the perfect little crochet wrap that I have a feeling my abuelita would have swooned over…casually tossed over my tanks, oozing California-cool…you’ll be seeing me toting this piece to the beach to throw on when the sun goes down.

So, while I’m sure you’re all thrilled about MY new duds, the exciting part is ONE of you LUCKY, FABULOUS, FASHIONABLE readers will also get the opportunity to own a gorgeous SENA Grosgrain Maxi Skirt!!!! Sena Yang is the bomb!! But then again, I’ve known that for a couple years now….some of you may remember way back when I WON that $5K Bloomingdale’s gift card in part thanks to my AMAZING SENA lace-front leggings as seen here…I styled the sh** out of those leggings and it sure paid off!

Jack Nicholson & Anjelica Huston dated from 1973 until 1989, and despite their personal tribulations, they were a fashion-match-made-in-heaven. Jack’s dapper dress-sense and irresistible swagger perfectly complimented the striking sartorial style embodied by Angelica. Velvet style icons indeed.

What’s in my bag…

Bags1
Baggs

So, if you’re anything like me, you can’t help but fill your purse to the brim. Nevermind having to switch it from shoulder to shoulder every 22 minutes while you’re sifting through the denim rack at Marshalls OR turning it upside down and dumping all its contents onto the floor looking for your keys! Haaahaaaa….you know you’ve done it, and all for the sake of sashaying about merrily with your prized accessory.

WHAT IS ALL THAT STUFF??

It’s nutty to have 3 different scents (Gucci’s Guilty, Oscar de la Renta’s Intrusion & Prada’s Infusion d’ Iris) in my bag…I know…and I don’t care! LoL! Better 3 than none I say. There’s nothing worse than taking off on your venture and realizing you forgot to give youself a spritz on your way out the door. Nothing worse except not having gum or mints or a lolipop :) Lately, I’ve got these perfect little Victoria’s Serect peppermints that come in a cute little heart-shaped tin…

Dior’s lip glow gives you the perfect pink and moisturises like no other! BUT, the more cost-friendly option is L’Oreal’s lip balm collection and I also carry their “Nourishing Nude”…these are my go-to’s.

Thanks to my bestie, I’m using Laura Mercier’s almond coconut milk hand lotion and it’s basically like smearing cupcakes, soft, soft cupcakes all over your hands….I usually destest foody-smelly lotions like that, but there’s something about this one…tissue’s…Paul Mitchell brush…

I also carry MUST-HAVE hand lotion of all hand lotions, L’Occitane’s dry skin hand cream. INSANE. I love it. If you’ve been to an Aveda salon and received their ultra soft hand treatment, then that’s what I would compare this too…

So, I won’t be caught without my: (1)Louis wallet that I’ve had for years and years and it still looks like new…guess that’s why they call them investment pieces :) They really are worth it. (2)Darn Blackberry…I’ll just leave it at that. (3)Hand SANI!!! Gotta have that hand sanitizer on you at all times cuz ya neva know. (4)E&J shades (5)D&G glasses that I should probably wear more often so I don’t go blind! (6)Kodak video/still camera, pocket-sized and perfect for your basic needs. (7)LODIS biz card holder…

Cards
Cards1

Friggin’ BEST card holder ever….you can find this one (in a different color scheme) on the LODIS site HERE!

And there you have it. My suitcase, er my purse contents shown and explained!

What do YOU carry around in your bag??

Marsh5

Marshalls never fails me…

First off, I love Vince! So great to find so much of it at my local store. I got this great Vince basic tee for just $34.99 when it retails for $80. Then, I saw this cool colored denim and really loved the earthy, clay tone. Although these Joe’s Jeans skinnies are bucking the neon AND pastel trends, I liked these a lot because I feel this color works now AND will easily go on into the Fall! These skinnies retail for $200 but I got them at Marshalls for $49.99…much easier on the pocket!

Lastly, but surely not the least, are my Giuseppe Zanotti booties!! Many people refuse to believe I got these at Marshalls, but I have no reason to fib. Marshalls is getting in the game and their buyers are bringing in higher end designers like Zanotti, Theory and much MUCH more! My Zanotti wonders here retailed for $800 but were selling at Marshalls for $299…..I just so happpened to snag them during a CLEARANCE SALE for just $69.99! I found the booties a couple months ago, but the denim and tee are totally current items so check your local Marshalls.

Bottom line: If I had actually paid normal retail for this CASUAL outfit of JEANS & a TEE, it would have set me back $1,100 (more or less)! A little much don’t ya think?? On the other hand, this outfit for under $200 is a lot more practical, in my opinion!

“In November 2007, friends and Harvard b-school classmates Alexis Maybank and Alexandra Wilkis Wilson noticed a trend, formulated a plan and co-founded a game-changing start-up. As it turned out, some five million members shared their passion. From Gilt Groupe’s frantic first 24 hours to the phenomenon that has now earned a $1 billion valuation, “By Invitation Only: How We Built Gilt Groupe and Changed the Way Millions Shop” is the personal story behind the pair’s groundbreaking gamble.

With insider stories from the worlds of tech start-ups and fashion, “By Invitation Only” addresses the entrepreneurial highs and lows that shaped Alexis’ and Alexandra’s company, including the challenging balance between their personal lives and work responsibilities. Making cameo appearances in the book are such style icons as Zac Posen, Christian Louboutin and Valentino. Says Alexandra, ‘We will always be grateful to our brand partners for believing in our vision, and our beloved members who inspire us every day.’ “

If it weren’t for Marshalls, where would I be?? I swear, sometimes the deals I find are the stuff dreams are made of…this spearminty, sea foamy green had me stop dead in my tracks the other day whilst on another Marshalls stroll…naturally :)

The color. The cut. The flow. The fabric. It was love at first sight…but the best was yet to come…

I got this sensational Cynthia Rowley maxi for just $29.99 when it retailed for over $100. Done & Done!!!

No need for mint juleps this weekend with this minty green confection!
